Immediate Family

If you are the spouse, child, sibling, parent, grandparent, grandchild, stepparent, stepchild, stepsibling, or adopted parent or child of a member, you are eligible to join EFCU.  join now!

Household Members

If you live in the same residence of a member and maintain a single economic unit, you are eligible for membership at EFCU.  join now!

Government

Employees and affiliates of the following government organizations may be eligible for membership at EFCU.

U.S. Military

  • Active Military Personnel (Active, Retired, Dependents and Reserves) who work in, are assigned to, or are receiving services from Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, Camp Rudder or 7th Special Forces Group. Prior to duty station arrival, membership may be established with a copy your orders.
  • Retired Military Personnel who are receiving services from Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, Camp Rudder or 7th Special Forces Group.
  • Dependents of Active, Retired or Dependent Survivors who are receiving services from Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, Camp Rudder or 7th Special Forces Group.
  • Reserve Personnel, including new enlistees with ID card or a DD Form 4, who reside in Okaloosa or Walton.
  • National Guard personnel who reside in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, or Walton County.
  • Veterans, including honorably discharged US armed services with a form DD214 that reside in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, or Walton County.

U.S. Government*

  • Civil Service who work at or are assigned to Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, Camp Rudder or 7th Special Forces Group.
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) who work in Okaloosa County.
  • Federal Aviation Agency (FAA) who work in Okaloosa County.
  • Office of Special Investigations (OSI) who work in Okaloosa County.
  • US Postal Service who work in Okaloosa County.
  • National Association of Retired Federal Employees personnel eligible for membership in the South Okaloosa Chapter #1428 who live in Okaloosa, Santa Rosa, or Walton Counties.

U.S. Government Contractors

Contractors and employees of contractors who work regularly at Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field, Camp Rudder or 7th Special Forces Group. Off base contractors are welcome to request eligibility for their employees.

Non-Appropriated Funds Activities

Employees of the USO or the American Red Cross who work at Eglin AFB, Hurlburt Field, Duke Field or 7th Special Forces Group.

Select Employee Groups (SEGs)
As a Select Employee Group, the employees, associates and members of your organization become automatically eligible to join EFCU.
Eligibility Qualifications
There are many ways to qualify for membership at EFCU.
Savings
A Regular Share Savings Account is required to establish and maintain membership with EFCU.

 Lifetime Membership

Once a member, always a member.* Services such as Online Banking via a browser or the Eglin FCU Mobile App, CO-OP ATMs and Shared Branch provide convenient access to your account no matter where you live.

*Maintain your account for life with a minimum $5.00 balance, a good address, and at least one transaction each year.

 Verification of Identity
Federal Law requires us to obtain, verify & record information that identifies anyone who opens or signs on an account.

Can I apply for membership online?

Yes. Please visit eglinfcu.org/join to check your eligibility, then select "join now" to apply for membership online!

Do I need to provide my tax statement when I apply for membership?

We do not require a copy of your tax statement(s) to become a member, however we may request this information to verify income for a loan.

Will my credit score affect my eligibility for membership?

Your credit score will not affect your eligibility to become a member at Eglin FCU, however it may affect your ability to get a loan or credit card as well as the rate of interest you are eligible for.

How do I know if I am eligible for membership?

Can I have more than one account at Eglin FCU?

As a Credit Union member, you may have only one primary account, established and maintained with the $5 minimum balance in your Regular Share Savings suffix, but you may have multiple share suffixes, such as Checking, Christmas Club or Money Market. How old do I need to be to become a member?

To become an Eglin FCU member you must be over the age of 18 and meet our eligiblity requirements. Minors under the age of 18 may also become members, however an adult joint owner is required on all suffixes. Please note that we do not automatically change the account status when a minor reaches the age of 18 and we may require changes to be authorized in writing by all account owners. Can I add my spouse to my account?

You may add another person to most of your account suffixes through joint ownership or cross-account access.

What is joint ownership?

Joint Ownership means the account suffix is shared equally by two or more individuals who agree to share equal responsibility for any fees or charges incurred.

What is cross-account access?

Cross-Account Access grants someone access to perform specific actions on your account without making them a joint owner. Unlike joint ownership, cross-account access does not grant equal ownership rights or responsibilities.

Can I have more than one account at Eglin FCU?

At Eglin FCU, you may only have one account in your name. However, this account can encompass a variety of suffixes, allowing you to manage multiple financial products such as checking, savings, credit cards, and loans, all within one convenient account.

Who can request a Verification of Deposit and how?

A Verification of Deposit Form must be initiated by a third party and signed by the member. Please fax requests to 850.862.1087.

Can my child who is a minor join Eglin FCU?

Children under the age of 18 may become members, however an adult joint owner is required on all suffixes.

Can I apply for a loan at Eglin FCU if I am not a member?

You must be an Eglin FCU member with an active account in order to apply for a loan.

Can I open an Eglin FCU checking or savings account suffix if I am not a member?

To open an Eglin FCU account suffix such as checking, savings, IRAs or Share Certificates you must be a member.

Can I open an Eglin FCU account for my business?

We do not currently offer or service business accounts or business loans.
