Can I apply for membership online?

Do I need to provide my tax statement when I apply for membership?
We do not require a copy of your tax statement(s) to become a member, however we may request this information to verify income for a loan.
Will my credit score affect my eligibility for membership?
Your credit score will not affect your eligibility to become a member at Eglin FCU, however it may affect your ability to get a loan or credit card as well as the rate of interest you are eligible for.
How do I know if I am eligible for membership?

Can I have more than one account at Eglin FCU?
As a Credit Union member, you may have only one primary account, established and maintained with the $5 minimum balance in your Regular Share Savings suffix, but you may have multiple share suffixes, such as Checking, Christmas Club or Money Market. How old do I need to be to become a member?
To become an Eglin FCU member you must be over the age of 18 and meet our eligibility requirements. Minors under the age of 18 may also become members, however an adult joint owner is required on all suffixes. Please note that we do not automatically change the account status when a minor reaches the age of 18 and we may require changes to be authorized in writing by all account owners. Can I add my spouse to my account?
You may add another person to most of your account suffixes through joint ownership or cross-account access.
What is joint ownership?
Joint Ownership means the account suffix is shared equally by two or more individuals who agree to share equal responsibility for any fees or charges incurred.
What is cross-account access?
Cross-Account Access grants someone access to perform specific actions on your account without making them a joint owner. Unlike joint ownership, cross-account access does not grant equal ownership rights or responsibilities.
Can I have more than one account at Eglin FCU?
At Eglin FCU, you may only have one account in your name. However, this account can encompass a variety of suffixes, allowing you to manage multiple financial products such as checking, savings, credit cards, and loans, all within one convenient account.
Who can request a Verification of Deposit and how?
A Verification of Deposit Form must be initiated by a third party and signed by the member. Please fax requests to 850.862.1087.
Can my child who is a minor join Eglin FCU?
Children under the age of 18 may become members, however an adult joint owner is required on all suffixes.
Establishing membership for children under the age of 18, as well as adults, requires opening a Regular Share Savings account with a minimum deposit of $5.
Can I apply for a loan at Eglin FCU if I am not a member?
You must be an Eglin FCU member with an active account in order to apply for a loan.
Can I open an Eglin FCU Checking or Savings account suffix if I am not a member?
To open an Eglin FCU account suffix such as checking, savings, IRAs or Share Certificates you must be a member.
Can I open an Eglin FCU account for my business?
We do not currently offer or service business accounts or business loans.

A Social Security Number (SSN)/Tax ID Number (TIN) is required to open a member account. An Employer Identification Number (EIN) is required for specific account types.

Members at Eglin FCU have account numbers, although some may refer to their account number as a member number.
A Minor Account at Eglin FCU establishes membership for individuals under 18 and must be applied for and authorized by an adult joint owner. This account belongs to the minor and does not require any transfer. Once the minor reaches 18, they must contact us to change the account status from minor to adult. In contrast, the Florida Transfer to Minor Savings suffix is a savings account designed to be transferred to the minor when they reach 21. This suffix is distinct from a Minor Account and involves a transfer process upon the minor reaching the specified age.
We understand that dealing with the loss of a loved one is a difficult time. If you need to settle the account of a deceased member, please reach out to us. Please call us or visit any of our branches during business hours and ask to speak with a Claims representative. We are here to assist you during thsi difficult time.
We do offer and service Estate Accounts. To set up an Estate Account, the deceased individual must have been an active member or joint owner at the time of their passing. Proof of the assignment of a Personal Representative, typically a Letter of Administration from the Circuit Court must be provided. Additionally, an IRS form documenting the Federal Tax Identification Number (EIN) for the estate is required, as a Social Security Number cannot be used.
